Our Installation Story

When we first got pictures of the kitchen from our client's home in

Aberdeen

, it was clear that they wanted a simple look overall. They also let us know that a bright, welcoming and traditional feel was the vision. We went with a light, naturally patterned stone, called

Colonial White Granite

. The island then ties the whole layout together, giving the family another practical surface and a natural place to gather. Once everything was templated, fabricated and fitted, the result was exactly what this style of kitchen needs — practical enough for everyday cooking, but with the warmth and character you'd expect from a traditional Aberdeen home.

The Design Direction

Keep It Traditional, Keep It Useful

Have you ever walked into a Shaker kitchen and immediately felt at home? That's the feeling we wanted to preserve here. There was no need to introduce a dramatic worktop or a complicated colour scheme. The cabinetry already had that classic character, so we kept things calm and let the materials work together. The pale stone adds a little natural texture, the timber floor brings warmth, and those large windows make the whole space feel wonderfully open during the day.

Final Outcome — The finished kitchen demonstrates why the Shaker style continues to work so well in larger traditional properties. From the main preparation run to the central island and adjoining dining area, the layout feels practical without losing its traditional character. It is a kitchen designed to be used rather than simply admired.
