Barocco Granite Kitchen

Essex, United Kingdom

Our Installation Story

Some kitchens don't need bright colours to stand out. This Essex project proves exactly that. At first glance, your eyes go straight to the waterfall island. But behind that seamless finish was careful planning, accurate templating and precise fabrication. This

Barocco Granite

kitchen we did a couple months back was designed to look bold, modern and built for everyday living.

The Challenge

Project Challenges & Practical Solutions

If you are considering Barocco Granite for your next kitchen project, some of these challenges may sound familiar. Here are a few practical situations we encountered and how they were successfully resolved.

The Problem
The island was the main feature of the kitchen, so the veining needed to flow naturally from the top down the waterfall panel. Any mismatch would have been immediately noticeable.
How We Solved It
We carefully selected the slab layout before fabrication and positioned every cut to keep the natural movement as continuous as possible. The waterfall joint was then installed and polished to create a clean, seamless appearance.
The Problem
Barocco Granite contains dramatic flowing mineral movement that can easily appear disconnected if slab layout is not carefully planned across different worktop sections.
How We Solved It
After digital templating, every splashback panel was CNC cut with precise openings for sockets and carefully fitted on-site. This gave the kitchen a neat finish while keeping joints to a minimum.
The Problem
Granite slabs have massive weight, so it is not as easy as moving a laminate surface. When we are moving the cut pieces into the property, we need to be extra careful so that we don't damage it.
How We Solved It
Our installers used specialist lifting equipment and installed each section onto fully levelled cabinetry. Every joint was checked and adjusted before final polishing to achieve a secure and professional finish.
Final Outcome — Clients liked how their kitchen turned out to be both bold and elegant. The biggest feature for them wasn't the cabinets or the appliances anymore; it was the granite. Their favourite part was the large waterfall island and matching splashbacks. Our masons had made sure that every cut was carefully planned, because of which the natural veining now looks intentional from every angle.

Barocco Granite

Dark natural stones like Barocco Granite are best with white cabinets. This is one of the most timeless combinations, but of course you can try multiple other colours too. It has got gold specks in it, with a dark blackish-brown kind of background. When we installed this stone for the Essex kitchen, it turned out to be super awesome, especially as the client had large, open, transparent windows which brought in ample light. Do you see how beautiful the combination of large waterfall islands, matching splashbacks and long worktops looks? All fabricated from big, super-jumbo-sized slabs to create a continuous look throughout the space.

FAQs

Questions About Granite Kitchen Worktops

Once we are done with templating, we complete granite kitchens within 7 working days, usually, unless you change the stone of your choice or it is a premium stone yet to be delivered to our factory.
You don't need to seal the worktop every year if you use the kitchen lightly or maintain it daily. But for busy families and especially those who use it roughly, annual sealing may be necessary to keep it looking new and polished.
If you have installed it in an outdoor kitchen, it is safe from sunlight. The little sunlight that falls on the surface does not harm it. If it is an outdoor kitchen or entertainment zone, the sun won't destroy it, but there will be gradual colour grading.
Yes. A 20mm granite worktop is more than suitable for most kitchens. For larger overhangs or waterfall designs, additional support may be recommended depending on the layout.
Granite has excellent heat resistance, but we still recommend using trivets or heat-resistant mats to help preserve the stone and its protective sealer over the long term.
Clean the surface with warm water, a pH-neutral stone cleaner or a mild washing-up liquid and a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive pads, as these may damage the sealer over time.
