was for modern homeowners who had just moved into their new home. They were a small family, so it wouldn't be a busy kitchen. We used a massive slab of30mm Calacatta Gold Quartz
for this job, as it included lengthy U-shaped countertops with a peninsula as well as splashbacks. We went for a jumbo slab so that there would be no joints on the worktops. A Substantial Quartz Surface For A Contrasting Kitchen
The kitchen layout included several connected worktop runs, a sink area beneath the window and a separate preparation section. Using the same 30mm Calacatta Gold Quartz throughout helped keep these areas visually connected. The objective was not simply to install a white worktop, but to use the thicker 30mm quartz slab to give the relatively compact kitchen a more substantial and finished appearance.

This slab is a copy of the famous Italian marble called Calacatta. For this project, the stone was specified in a 30mm slab thickness. The additional thickness gives exposed edges a stronger architectural presence and can be particularly effective where the worktop is intended to look substantial rather than delicate.
