Empira White Polished Quartz 20mm Peninsula

Wiltshire, United Kingdom

Our Installation Story

For this

Wiltshire

kitchen we can see that main attention has been given to the peninsula. The massive countertop made of

20mm Empira White Quartz

creates a generous preparation and serving surface. This is a super modern kitchen which is clearly bold in its sink choice; large black undermount-style. The position of the windows also meant that the stone would receive strong daylight throughout the day, making the polished finish and subtle surface pattern especially effective.

The Vision

A Bright Kitchen Built Around Natural Light

With large windows forming such a prominent part of the room, the peninsula worktop had an opportunity to reflect and distribute that natural light throughout the kitchen. The Empira White Quartz keeps the palette bright while its fine mottled detailing adds enough texture to stop the surface from appearing completely plain. The 20mm profile also suits the clean, contemporary cabinetry and keeps the peninsula visually streamlined.

Design Objective
Keep the kitchen contemporary without an overly bulky worktop profile.
Our Execution
Empira White Quartz was fabricated at 20mm, giving the horizontal surfaces a clean and proportionate edge that works naturally with the modern cabinetry.
Design Objective
Create a useful additional preparation and serving zone.
Our Execution
The quartz was extended across the peninsula to provide a generous uninterrupted surface, with the exposed edge carefully finished for a clean appearance.
Design Objective
Create a defined focal point against the pale quartz.
Our Execution
A large black sink was accurately incorporated into the worktop, creating a strong but simple contrast against the white surface.
Design Objective
Make full use of the daylight around the kitchen's working area.
Our Execution
The quartz was templated around the window-side layout, allowing the surface to sit neatly against the surrounding walls and window recess.
Design Objective
Keep the kitchen feeling open while adding subtle visual texture.
Our Execution
The polished Empira White surface introduces delicate movement and reflection without competing with the minimalist cabinetry or large windows.
Final Look — The finished kitchen has a distinctly clean and contemporary character. The chosen slab made the client's small kitchen space look spacious and the fact that the worktop sits in front of the window was a bigger cherry on top. Natural light directly falls on the polished worktops which reflects it all over the room corners and brightens it. Altogether, the colour combination of walls, cabinets and countertops, along with window's position give the kitchen a big advantage leading to a neat look.

Empira White Polished Quartz

Empira White Quartz is a light coloured stone slab which shows some level of detailing with veins. It is one of the popular white quartz collections for modern kitchen renovations. The slab is available in both 2cm and 3cm. The slimmer slab is mainly chosen for splashbacks and wall claddings while 3cm for worktops.

Make A Bright Kitchen Feel Finished, Not Plain

White cabinetry and white worktops can create an exceptionally bright kitchen, but using completely flat or featureless surfaces can sometimes leave the room lacking definition. Empira White introduces subtle movement into the worktop while retaining the clean appearance of a predominantly white scheme. In this Wiltshire kitchen, the effect is strengthened by the large black-framed windows and contrasting black sink. The result is a bright contemporary space where the details provide the character rather than relying on bold colours.

FAQs

Questions About 20mm Empira White Quartz Kitchen Worktops

20mm quartz provides a clean, contemporary profile that works particularly well with modern cabinetry. It gives the peninsula a substantial and durable work surface without creating an unnecessarily thick visual edge.
Yes, when correctly supported and fabricated, 20mm engineered quartz is widely used for kitchen worktops. Proper templating, support and installation are important, particularly around sink and hob cut-outs and on larger overhangs.
Absolutely. The combination creates a strong visual contrast. In this Wiltshire kitchen, the black sink gives the otherwise light worktop a defined focal point without disrupting the clean overall palette.
Yes. Quartz can be digitally templated around window openings and adjoining returns for an accurate fit. This is particularly useful where the worktop runs directly into a window recess, as seen in this installation.
Like most polished light surfaces, fingerprints, water marks and spills can be more visible under certain lighting conditions. However, quartz is straightforward to maintain with regular cleaning using a suitable non-abrasive product.
Without any second thought! This polished white quartz slab is highly resistant to water so it works best in areas which deal with water on a regular basis, like the bathroom, washroom and even behind sinks. So yes, a 2cm slab of polished Empira Quartz is usable for bathroom cladding.
