project is a little different from other usual projects because in this one, our focus was entirely on a statement dining table rather than worktops. The client was searching for a material that felt artistic and unique. They wanted a surface that could act as both furniture and be a conversation starter. The table itself featured a large uninterrupted surface, which meant every detail of the slab would remain visible. Once installed, the table became the centrepiece of the room, drawing attention from every angle.

If you are planning a bespoke marble dining table, some of the challenges below may sound familiar. Every stone project presents unique considerations, particularly when the entire slab remains visible as part of the finished furniture piece.

The Problem
Unlike kitchen worktops that contain sinks, hobs and joints, this table showcased almost the entire slab surface. Any less attractive section of the stone would remain visible permanently.
How We Solved It
Before fabrication began, the slab was carefully reviewed to identify the most dramatic areas of movement and colour variation. The table dimensions were positioned digitally over the slab layout to maximise the visibility of the strongest veining patterns. We gave particular attention to balancing the turquoise tones with the rust-coloured mineral movement. This planning stage ensured the finished table looked intentional and visually balanced from every seating position.
The Problem
The table edge remains visible from every angle and receives regular contact from chairs, diners and daily use. Any inconsistency in polishing would be immediately noticeable.
How We Solved It
Multiple polishing stages were used during fabrication to create a consistent finish around the entire perimeter. Edge detailing was inspected under different lighting conditions to ensure a uniform sheen. Special care was taken around corners where variations can often become visible.
The Problem
Natural marble is significantly heavier than many people expect. Large table surfaces require adequate support to prevent stress points developing over time.
How We Solved It
The base structure was reviewed before installation to confirm it could comfortably support the finished slab. Weight distribution was considered across the entire surface to avoid concentration in isolated areas. During installation, the slab was carefully positioned and levelled to ensure proper support throughout. This provided both long-term stability and confidence for everyday use.
Final Outcome — Our client was more than satisfied with the completed table, which we delivered ahead of time. The main highlight was the striking design feature of this unique slab. We can see how this marble has rich colours and its intricate veining gives the final piece a distinctive personality.
