Montblanc Quartzite Kitchen

Oxfordshire, United Kingdom

Our Installation Story

Montblanc Quartzite was chosen for its soft, pale appearance and natural linear movement. What makes this installation work is the relationship between the stone and everything already around it. The warm cabinetry and wooden flooring bring plenty of colour into the room, while Montblanc Quartzite introduces a much lighter surface without creating a sharp contrast. The result feels considered rather than as though the worktop was added separately.

The Vision

Soft Quartzite For A Warm, Traditional Kitchen

The aim here was not to create an ultra-modern white kitchen. The existing cabinetry and timber details called for something softer. The pale Montblanc Quartzite works particularly well because its subtle grey-beige movement adds interest without overpowering the room.

Design Objective
A lighter surface that would complement the cabinetry.
Our Execution
Fabricated the quartzite across the main preparation and sink areas, keeping the natural movement visible along the runs.
Design Objective
Make the most of the bright position beneath the window.
Our Execution
Shaped the worktop around the sink and window reveal for a clean, fitted finish.
Design Objective
A practical cooking surface within the kitchen layout.
Our Execution
Precision-cut the quartzite to accommodate the black induction hob while maintaining the clean appearance of the surrounding stone.
Design Objective
Avoid making the worktops look too plain.
Our Execution
Planned the individual pieces so the subtle linear pattern of the quartzite remained visible across the larger surfaces.
Design Objective
Keep the new worktops in harmony with the warmer kitchen.
Our Execution
Used the pale stone as a bridge between the neutral cabinetry, timber flooring and darker appliance details.

The Finished Space —

The pale quartzite gives the Oxfordshire kitchen a fresh surface while allowing the existing cabinetry and timber features to remain part of the design. The dark induction hob provides a simple point of contrast on the main worktop, while the sink area beneath the window benefits from the additional daylight falling directly onto the stone.

FAQs

Questions About Montblanc Quartzite Kitchen Worktops

Yes, quartzite is good around heat, so you can safely order it for a fire hearth.
Yes. A precision cutout can be fabricated for an induction hob, with the installation completed according to the appliance manufacturer's requirements.
Yes. Quartzite can be fabricated with sink cutouts, including undermount sink installations where the design and sink specification allow.
This being a natural stone, it is almost impossible to find two slabs with the same pattern. Even on the same slab, two corners may not match, but that is the beauty of natural stone. This is why slab selection and layout planning are important, particularly for larger worktops and islands.
Time to time sealing is recommended. This will protect your worktops from staining.
