Taga Stonika Dekton Kitchen Surrey

Surrey, United Kingdom

Our Dekton Story

Wow, this Taga Stonika Dekton kitchen installed in Surrey left everyone open-mouthed. We would not have believed that just a single island piece of this affordable Dekton Taga could turn the whole kitchen into a 'Hero Element' — and yes, it did! Dekton is an amazing by-product of Cosentino, a high-tech blend of quartz and porcelain made through a partial sintering process, which produces a highly compact surface that is perfect for kitchens, bathrooms, vanity tops, islands, dining tables, peninsula tops, and more. Knowing this, we used Dekton Taga stone for an island, worktop, and backsplash combo for a classic look, and the result is waiting for you. Scroll down to see it…

The Challenge

What was actually difficult about this huge Dekton island job…

Like every project, this one had its own set of challenges. These jumbo slabs required heavy lifting equipment that failed mid-transportation, and since this particular stone was in high demand, the slabs were nowhere to be found when we arrived, so we reserved them exclusively for our client. With so many hurdles at once, staying calm and focused was key, and we handled every obstacle wisely. Here's how we did it.

The Problem
Transporting oversized Dekton Taga jumbo slabs is no small feat. Their sheer size and weight demand specialist handling at every stage. One wrong move risks cracking the surface, and with Dekton, we depend on it like a lifeline.
How We Solved It
Our experienced installation team used precision lifting techniques and pre-planned support systems, ensuring every fabricated piece of island and worktop arrived and was positioned without a single crack or chip.
The Problem
Midway through the project, our heavy lifting equipment failed unexpectedly. With a large, delicate Dekton slab suspended and a client's kitchen at stake, panic was not an option.
How We Solved It
We immediately switched to a backup lifting method, rebalanced the slab safely, and continued without delays — because preparation for the unexpected is part of our process.
The Problem
Dekton Taga is one of the most popular surfaces, and there are too many buyers behind it in the stone market. When we arrived to collect the slabs, stock had run out. Sourcing a premium material at short notice is one of the industry's toughest challenges.
How We Solved It
We had already anticipated high demand and pre-reserved the slabs from two of our other suppliers, exclusively for our client, ensuring zero project delays and full continuity from start to finish.
The Problem
Achieving a seamless combo of island, worktop, and backsplash using the same Dekton Taga slab requires exact pattern matching and precise cuts. Even a millimetre off ruins the continuous look.
How We Solved It
Our templating team mapped every vein and pattern before cutting, ensuring a perfectly flowing, uninterrupted stone finish across all three surfaces, exactly as the client envisioned.

The Material

Taga Stonika Dekton

Taga Stonika Dekton has a smooth and elegant look from the outside and almost reminds everyone of raw beach rock crystals and sandy beige oyster shells. The material has ripples of movement on the surface and seems so fine for coastal-themed interiors. The surface looks as calm as the waves on the beach yet has an endurance as strong as rock. This combination makes everyone want this at their British core — 'kitchens', just like one of our clients. We definitely recommend these quartz-mixed Dekton slabs for kitchen worktops with hobs and burners near the backsplash, vanity tops and even outdoor dining tops.

Pricing Guide

Is Dekton Expensive? Check Price Here

Let me be honest — 'Is Dekton expensive?' Yes, it is slightly on the premium side, but we have a smart idea to bring it within a more affordable range. From £694.96 down to £528.65 per square metre; simply reducing the thickness can save you over £100. The 8mm thickness is naturally lower in price compared to the 20mm option. For applications like upstands and backsplashes, a thinner slab is more than sufficient — you simply do not need the extra bulk. Pairing 8mm Dekton for your backsplash and upstands with a matching material like Arga Dekton for your island gives you the same seamless, coordinated look while saving you a significant amount. A little smart planning goes a long way when it comes to your kitchen budget.

FAQs

Questions About Dekton Installation

Something tough comes from mixing porcelain, quartz, and glass blended under intense conditions. Scratches? Stains? Sunlight damage? Heat exposure? All handled without trouble. For places like cooking areas, washrooms, and even outside zones, it fits right into daily wear. Asked if it holds up well over time? That question gets a clear yes every single time. Long-lasting strength shows in how little upkeep it asks while looking sharp year after year. People across the country now pick it often when choosing high-end countertop surfaces.
From a design angle, picking between Dekton Taga and Arga hinges on how you want the space to feel. A gentle beige base runs through Taga, laced with delicate lines that bring calm sophistication. Meanwhile, Arga steps forward with striking gold and grey patterns pulled straight from raw quartzite. Because both stand up equally well to wear, what really guides the pick is visual preference. Though tough as stone, their real difference lives in appearance.
Most people find the cost shifts based on dimensions, how thick it is, the edges, crafting details, plus where it's placed. Slabs in Britain usually sit at the higher end for kitchen surfaces. Priced above common quartz and plastic options, yet seen as solid value due to toughness that lasts years without much care. Few materials match its resistance to scratches, heat, or fading under sunlight. Some skip cheaper picks after learning how little upkeep it demands over time.
True, Dekton falls into the high-end category, often costing more compared to most quartz and granite countertops. Still, thanks to its strong defence against scrapes, high temperatures, sun damage, and spills, it holds up well over time. A good number of people across the UK go for Dekton since it stays looking fresh for ages without much upkeep needed.
Busy kitchens find a match in Dekton Taga worktops — they handle daily cooking without flinching. Hot pans land without harm, knives slide without leaving marks, spills stay on the surface instead of soaking in. Stains from meals fade fast under cleaning, thanks to tight material that blocks moisture deep within. Since nothing seeps through, germs struggle to take hold. Sealing becomes unnecessary, effort drops off, cleanliness stays high.
Warm water, a soft cloth, plus a bit of mild detergent keeps Dekton Taga Gloss looking fresh. Cleaning it never needs much effort. Sealing? Not required here. Polishing? Skip that too. Natural stone demands more care than this. Over time, that difference shows clearly. Modern homes gain something simpler because of it.
Some people notice right away how much Dekton Taga looks like real marble, only tougher. Its surface handles spills without soaking them in, which matters when life gets messy. A number of users mention it stays smooth even after years of regular wear. What stands out is how little effort is needed to keep it clean — no special cleaners needed. Heat from pans does not leave marks, a detail many find useful during cooking. Designers pick it often for busy homes where surfaces face constant use. The sleek look holds up, not just at first but over time. Heavy routines in the kitchen do not seem to bother it.
Starting with calm colours, Taga Dekton fits right into modern or traditional kitchens without trying too hard. Tough against burns, marks, and spills, it holds up quietly under daily wear. Instead of shouting luxury, it shows it through smooth texture and steady look. Homes gain quiet elegance when this surface takes centre stage in the room where people gather most.
