Khalo Stonika Dekton Kitchen

Warwickshire, United Kingdom

Installation Story

We got an enquiry from Warwickshire. After receiving a couple images, we could see that their kitchen already had a strong personality with darker elements. So our job was to make sure that the worktop brought some brightness without making the room feel too stark. Khalo Stonika Dekton gave us that balance. Its light background and natural-looking veining sit comfortably against the darker units, while the matching vertical stonework helps tie the different sections of the kitchen together. We worked around the existing layout, including the window area, cooking zone and sink run, so the finished installation feels like one connected kitchen rather than separate pieces of worktop.

The Design Direction

Light Stone Against Deep Navy Cabinetry

The client had already committed to a darker cabinet colour, so rather than competing with it, we used the worktop as the lighter element that would open up the room. The warm movement in Khalo Stonika also works particularly well with the brass-toned details running through the cabinetry.

Design Objective
Bring brightness into the darker kitchen.
Our Execution
Installed Khalo Stonika across the main worktop runs to create a lighter visual base.
Design Objective
Connect the horizontal worktop with the walls.
Our Execution
Continued the Dekton vertically around the cooking area and adjoining sections for a more unified finish.
Design Objective
Keep the sink area clean and integrated.
Our Execution
Fabricated the sink opening for a neat undermount installation against the Dekton surface.
Design Objective
Maintain a practical cooking zone without breaking the visual flow.
Our Execution
Precision-cut the worktop around the black induction hob, keeping the cooking run clean and uncluttered.
Design Objective
Make use of the naturally brighter section of the room.
Our Execution
Finished the worktop neatly around the window and sink area, allowing daylight to emphasise the stone's lighter surface.

The Finished Kitchen —

The combination of Khalo Stonika Dekton, deep navy cabinetry and warm metallic detailing gives this Warwickshire kitchen a distinctly contemporary feel without making it cold. The dark sink and induction hob add another layer of contrast, while the lighter stone keeps the overall room balanced.

Khalo Stonika Dekton

Khalo Stonika brings together a light, warm-toned background with expressive natural-style veining. In this kitchen, that movement works particularly well because the surrounding cabinetry is much darker. Rather than disappearing into the room, the worktop becomes one of the main visual elements while still leaving the navy units and brass details room to stand out.

Light Dekton With Dark Kitchen Cabinets

The interesting part of this installation is not just the stone itself. It is the way the different finishes have been brought together. Dark navy cabinetry, warm brass detailing, a black sink and induction hob, dark flooring and a light Dekton surface could easily have felt visually busy. Instead, the Khalo Stonika worktop provides the lighter middle ground that brings those elements together.

Questions About Dekton Kitchen Worktops

Dekton slabs are available in many thin versions like 4mm, 8mm and 12mm. You can install a matching worktop and splashback with these modern slabs.
Yes. The stone can be precision-fabricated around the sink opening to create a clean transition between the worktop and sink.
Yes. We can use the method of precision fabrication to make this possible. But we also suggest that you check the manufacturer's installation requirements and the specific hob model.
The overall colour and design remain consistent with the Khalo Stonika collection, but the positioning and distribution of the veining can vary depending on the slab and how it is cut. This is particularly important when planning larger runs or matching separate pieces.
