Kerala Green Granite Bar Worktop

Warwickshire, United Kingdom

Installation Story

This

Warwickshire

project called for a worktop that could handle a very different kind of kitchen environment. They were not after an additional prep space or a family kitchen countertop. Rather, they wanted a long running, durable yet stylish countertop for a public bar. You can see that they finalised a unique green granite called

Kerala Green

. The project was fun to work with, as the clients were very amicable.

The Design Direction

A Long-Format Bar Counter Built Around The Stone

With such a substantial counter, consistency across the length of the worktop was important. The objective was to create a durable working surface in the bar without breaking up the long visual line, while allowing the natural variation within Kerala Green Granite to become part of the finished design.

Design Objective
Create a generous service and preparation surface across the length of the space.
Our Execution
The granite was fabricated into a long continuous counter, giving the area a practical working zone while maintaining a strong horizontal line.
Design Objective
Make use of the stone's distinctive mineral pattern rather than hiding it.
Our Execution
The slab was positioned to showcase the varied green, charcoal and lighter mineral formations across the most visible areas.
Design Objective
They wanted their kitchen to appear bright and modern.
Our Execution
With the polished surface and its glossy touch, it reflects all the natural light that falls on it, which makes the space brighter.
Design Objective
Give the counter a neat finished profile from the service side.
Our Execution
The exposed granite edge was carefully fabricated and finished to create a crisp transition between the worktop and supporting cabinetry.
Final Outcome — The finished Kerala Green Granite bar worktop has a strong presence without needing additional decorative elements. The deep green granite brings natural colour into the space, while its dense mineral pattern gives the long counter plenty of visual interest from one end to the other. The polished surface also interacts well with the warm lighting, creating subtle reflections across the worktop. Against the darker cabinetry and timber elements, Kerala Green becomes the feature that ties the working and service areas together.

Kerala Green Granite

This is one of the unique granite slabs. As the name suggests, it has a greenish background. It is a bit mossier type of green but may also be darker. We can see brown, black and white short dotted lines that are present all over the surface. Overall, it has a natural earthy look.

Green Granite For A More Distinctive Counter

Green granite can transform a worktop from a background surface into a genuine design feature. Kerala Green is particularly effective when used across a longer counter because its natural movement becomes more apparent as the eye travels along the slab. For bars, service counters and kitchens that need something less predictable than standard black or white stone, this combination of durability and natural colour makes Kerala Green an interesting choice.

FAQs

Questions About Kerala Green Granite Bar Worktops

It is mossy-green and displays a busy surface made of black and brown dotted line-like patterns.
Yes. Larger granite slabs can be fabricated for extended counters, subject to the available slab dimensions and the requirements of the particular installation. Careful planning is important to achieve the best visual continuity.
Yes, before handing over to you, we seal the granite surface, which provides additional protection against staining. Once a year or two, you can repeat the process so your bar worktop remains in its best condition.
We can try our best to match your old worktop surface, but it won't be a 100% resemblance because every natural slab differs in its pattern, as they all have different mineral compositions which cannot be altered by humans.
Yes. In fact, darker cabinetry and warm lighting can complement green granite particularly well. The polished surface helps introduce reflections, while the natural mineral variation prevents the overall scheme from appearing flat.
