Carrara Nuvo Quartz Worktop & Wow Quartzite Kitchen Island

London, United Kingdom

Quartz & Quartzite Installation Story

This is a special kitchen story for us and for you as well because, usually, people want materials to match their islands and countertops, but our customer from

London, United Kingdom

had other plans. Carrara Nuvo Quartz Worktop & Wow Quartzite Kitchen Island is a two-material-in-one-kitchen instance that turned out to be a great outcome for us as well. They wanted something elegant and abstract for their island and a simple and plain material for their worktop, and decided to go with two contrasting materials: Wow Fusion Quartzite (a similar one with high blue infusions was chosen) and Carrara Nuvo Quartz — a white, simple, and straight material. Every good thing comes with its own pain points, which are listed below!

The Challenge

How Difficult Was It to Bring Carrara Nuvo Quartz & Wow Fusion Quartzite Together?

A two-material kitchen always adds layers of complexity. Here is exactly what our team had to overcome on this London installation.

The Problem
Carrara Nuvo Quartz had a soft white appearance, while Wow Fusion Quartzite featured bold blue wavy movement. Aligning two completely different aesthetics without making the kitchen feel disconnected was challenging.
How We Solved It
Our team carefully balanced the slab positions, cabinet tones, and layout, allowing both materials to complement each other instead of competing for attention. So every time the sunrays visited through windows, it glowed like Cinderella's crystal shoes.
The Problem
This Carrara quartz countertop installation required perfectly centred sink and hob cut-outs. Any slight measuring error could weaken narrow sections around the cut-outs or affect appliance fitting.
How We Solved It
We completed the manual on-site templating before fabrication and reinforced the narrow bridge sections, ensuring precise appliance fitting without compromising the worktop's resilience and rigidity.
The Problem
Quartzite is extremely hard, and producing an intricate Ogee Bullnose profile without causing edge chips or losing the natural blue veining demanded exceptional craftsmanship.
How We Solved It
Our masons shaped the profile in multiple polishing stages using precision tooling, preserving both the elegant edge detail and the natural beauty of the quartzite.
The Problem
The wall cabinet was to be installed after the worktop. This meant the worktop had to be perfectly level, accurately positioned, and fabricated to exact dimensions so the cabinet would align seamlessly above it.
How We Solved It
The installation was completed in controlled stages with multiple installers, allowing the worktop to be positioned accurately before the cabinet while achieving a result where nobody could find a single flaw.

The Material

Two Premium Surfaces, One Stunning Kitchen

Carrara Nuvo Quartz slab close-up

Carrara Nuvo Quartz

Carrara Nuvo is a simple white quartz material with high resilience, and we all know quartz comes with a high level of heat and physical tolerance. This makes it a perfect addition for sink areas, as it resists stains, and near hobs and burners, as they endure heat well. This has probably caught the attention of more UK homeowners and become one of the hard-core materials for kitchens and bathrooms.

FAQs

Questions About Quartz & Quartzite Installation

White quartz worktops that mimic marble stand out in today's kitchen designs. Built tough, they resist stains without much upkeep needed around the home. Perfect fit for counters or standalone island units where function meets clean looks.
Expect prices for Carrara Nuvo Quartz to shift with slab depth, edge finish, or how tricky fitting gets. Most kitchens across the UK sit between £4,500 and over £11,000 once sized up — VAT included.
True, many pick Carrara Marmi Quartz for kitchens thanks to its sleek marble look. Tough enough for daily wear, it handles scrapes without showing damage. Spills tend not to leave marks either. That smooth finish stays clean even after months of use.
Most times, how much a Carrara Marmi Quartz costs ties back to what is in stock and how complex the cut needs to be, as well as the room's dimensions. Over in Britain, prices sit around average for quartz that looks like Carrara stone. The price starts at £274.92 per sqm.
White Carrara quartz countertops look like real marble, but they're engineered to mimic it. They start with a bright white background that flows into gentle grey lines. These surfaces last longer than natural stone when used every day. Cleaning them takes less work compared to genuine marble. The material holds up well against stains and scratches and keeps its smooth finish over time without needing special treatments.
True enough for everyday kitchen use. Though marble looks elegant, it soaks up spills easier than Carrara Nuvo Quartz does. The quartz version won't let liquids through its surface nearly as much. Cleaning it takes far less effort over time. Natural stone needs sealing now and then — quartz skips that step.
Shining under kitchen lights, New Carrara Quartz fits right into countertops where clean looks matter most. Bathroom vanities often carry this material because it holds up well while looking fresh. Behind stoves or sinks, splashbacks made of it resist stains without trying too hard. Islands built with the stone gain a crisp edge that feels current but never flashy.
White base. Grey lines drift through like smoke. This engineered stone mimics marble but stands tougher. Carrara Miksa Quartz fits modern kitchens without the upkeep. Light veins twist gently across the slab. Made for spaces wanting elegance minus fuss. Smooth finish, cool to touch. Not just for counters — walls too. Holds up well against daily wear.
Surprisingly bold in look, Wow Fusion Quartzite stands out because of its striking veining. Not just pretty — this rock laughs at scratches and heat. People pick it when they want their kitchen island to speak first. Its rich finish turns ordinary countertops into centrepieces without trying too hard.
Blue Fusion Quartzite works well for kitchen islands because of its distinct blue-grey colours, ability to handle heat, and toughness as a natural stone. Luxury kitchens frequently feature it in their design.
