Baltic Brown Granite is a coarse grained Granite that has a gorgeous blend of chocolate brown and black with small flecks of light brown. The first look of the granite resembles melted chocolate droplets on a cocoa coloured granite slab.
Although it has its origins in Finland, Baltic Brown Granite can also be quarried in places throughout North and South America as well as Greenland, India, China and Southern Africa. Baltic Brown It is also called Luumaki Granite, Bruno Brown and Rapakivi granite meaning crumbly rock in Finnish.
Granites are natural stone which adds charm and elegance to any living space. Granites are formed by the slow crystallisation of magma underneath the earth’s surface. It is composed mainly of natural Quartz and feldspar with subtle amounts of organic minerals, mica and amphiboles. Unlike marbles, Granite worktops require easy and low cost care practices.
