Kerala Green Granite Kitchen

Hampshire, United Kingdom

Our Installation Story

Some kitchens make an impression because of their colours, while others stand out through the character of the natural stone itself. Our Hampshire team talks about a big kitchen project they did last year. It was not a common choice of stone. Neither something classic like Carrara quartz nor something easy to decorate like Black Galaxy. It was a busy yet unique dotted granite called

'Kerala Green'

. The client was one of the most understanding customers we have ever worked with. Stay tuned for more...

The Challenge

Project Challenges & Practical Solutions

If you are planning to renovate your home with granite like Kerala Green for your next kitchen project, you may be doing a lot of research already to save you from errors. These are some situations that we faced, but we have listed the solutions too so that it helps you avoid similar cases.

The Problem
Natural granite varies from slab to slab. Since this kitchen required several sections, there was a possibility that noticeable colour variation could interrupt the overall appearance.
How We Solved It
Before fabrication, our team carefully selected slabs from the same batch and arranged every section digitally. This allowed us to maintain a consistent colour flow throughout the worktops, island and upstands, creating a balanced and natural finish.
The Problem
The client selected a traditional Belfast sink, which required accurate cut-outs and polished internal edges. Even a small measurement error could affect both the appearance and installation.
How We Solved It
Using digital templating and CNC fabrication, every sink cut-out was produced to exact dimensions. The edges were then hand-finished by our stonemasons to achieve smooth detailing and a perfect fit once installed.
The Problem
The kitchen featured a long stretch of worktop beneath multiple windows. Any uneven cabinetry or inaccurate templating would have left visible gaps against the wall and window reveals.
How We Solved It
Our team completed detailed digital templating before production and carefully levelled every cabinet during installation. This allowed the granite to sit neatly beneath the windows while maintaining consistent joints across the entire length of the kitchen.
Final Outcome — The finished kitchen delivered exactly what the homeowners had hoped for. The L-shaped kitchen layout required long worktop runs that met at internal corners. Poorly aligned joints would have been easy to notice, especially on polished granite. But our experts used matching colours for the joint so it looked seamless.

Kerala Green Granite

This busy green granite is not a common choice. It is not for the ordinary. One of the most unique choices, it has a mossy green kind of background, and you will notice animal print patterns over it with brown and black or dark green dots. It is a very long-lasting stone, popularly chosen by people for commercial floors. You can thus easily install it in the kitchen to be used as worktops, walls or floors. It is good with heat, so it can be installed as firehearths too.

FAQs

Questions About Green Granite Kitchen Worktops

We finish regular granite worktop jobs easily within 5-7 working days. This lead time may be longer during peak seasons or if yours is a special order, which means imported materials.
Even if you do not reseal it, it won't be drastically damaged or anything, as granite is tough. All a seal does is protect the surface finish and keep it looking newer for longer.
It is mossy green with dotted specks of brown and black grade.
Yes, you can. They are resistant to heat and make classic fire hearths for a home.
For everyday maintenance, wipe the surface with warm water and a soft microfibre cloth. A pH-neutral stone cleaner can be used for deeper cleaning. Avoid acidic cleaners, bleach and abrasive pads, as these may gradually affect the protective sealer.
