Nero Marquina Quartz

Hampshire, United Kingdom

Our Installation Story

This was one of those super fun projects. This

Hampshire, United Kingdom

installation stood out because the client wanted the worktops to become the focal point of the entire kitchen. The combination of dark cabinetry and Nero Marquina Quartz created an immediate contrast, while the large island allowed the veining to take centre stage. From the first site visit, it was clear that careful slab layout would be important. The bold white veining needed to flow naturally across the surfaces without appearing random. Once installation was complete, the island instantly became the feature everyone noticed first.

The Challenge

Problems and Set of Solutions for Fellow Homeowners…

If you are a fellow professional or homeowner, you may be able to relate with below challenges. We hope our solution helps you figure out things easily in case you come across similar problems during your next project.

The Problem
The dramatic white veining needed careful slab layout so the most attractive movement appeared on the island rather than being lost in cut-offs.
How We Solved It
The island was the visual focal point of the kitchen, so the most dramatic sections of veining needed to be positioned carefully. Before fabrication began, slab layouts were reviewed digitally to determine the best placement. This ensured the strongest pattern movement remained visible on the island rather than being lost within smaller cut sections.
The Problem
The thick-looking island edge required precise mitre fabrication and polishing to maintain a seamless appearance.
How We Solved It
The island design required a deeper edge profile than the slab thickness alone could provide. Precision mitre fabrication allowed separate pieces to be joined seamlessly. Careful polishing and colour matching ensured the joints remained discreet while maintaining a consistent polished finish across the entire island.
The Problem
The undermount sink opening had to be positioned carefully to preserve the strongest areas of the pattern and avoid weakening narrow sections.
How We Solved It
The undermount sink cut-out needed to be positioned accurately while preserving the most attractive areas of veining. Digital fabrication equipment allowed precise cutting, while edge polishing ensured a smooth finish around the sink opening. The result balanced functionality with visual appeal.
The Problem
With modern flat-front cabinetry, even minor inconsistencies become obvious, requiring accurate templating and fitting.
How We Solved It
Handleless cabinetry leaves little room for error. Accurate digital templating captured every dimension before fabrication. During installation, measurements were checked again to ensure consistent overhangs and clean alignment throughout the kitchen.
